For tickets click here https: //www.eventbrite.com/e/an-evening-with-new-york-times-bestselling-author-elizabeth-gilbert-tickets-95510744207. Elizabeth Gilbert was born in Waterbury, Connecticut in 1969, and grew up on a small family Christmas tree farm. She attended New York University, where she studied political science by day and worked on her short stories by night. After college, she spent several years traveling around the country, working in bars, diners and ranches, collecting experiences to transform into fiction. These explorations eventually formed the basis of her first book – a short story collection called PILGRIMS, which was a finalist for the PEN/Hemingway award, and which moved Annie Proulx to call her "a young writer of incandescent talent". During these early years in New York, she also worked as a journalist for such publications as Spin, GQ and The New York Times Magazine. She was a three-time finalist for The National Magazine Award, and an article she wrote in GQ about her experiences bartending on the Lower East Side eventually became the basis for the movie COYOTE UGLY. In 2000, Elizabeth published her first novel, STERN MEN (a story of brutal territory wars between two remote fishing islands off the coast of Maine) which was a New York Times Notable Book. In 2002, Elizabeth published THE LAST AMERICAN MAN – the true story of the modern day woodsman Eustace Conway. This book, her first work of non-fiction, was a finalist for both the National Book Award and the National Book Critics Circle Award. Elizabeth is best known, however for her 2006 memoir EAT PRAY LOVE, which chronicled her journey alone around the world, looking for solace after a difficult divorce. The book was an international bestseller, translated into over thirty languages, with over 12 million copies sold worldwide. In 2010, EAT PRAY LOVE was made into a film starring Julia Roberts. The book became so popular that Time Magazine named Elizabeth as one of the 100 most influential people in the world. In 2010, Elizabeth published a follow-up to EAT PRAY LOVE called COMMITTED—a memoir which explored her ambivalent feelings about the institution of marriage. The book immediately became a #1 New York Times Bestseller, and was also received with warm critical praise. As Newsweek wrote, COMMITTED "retains plenty of Gilbert's comic ruefulness and wide-eyed wonder", and NPR called the book "a rich brew of newfound insight and wisdom". Her 2013 novel THE SIGNATURE OF ALL THINGS is a sprawling tale of 19th century botanical exploration. O Magazine named it "the novel of a lifetime", and the Wall Street Journal called it "the most ambitious and purely-imagined work of (Gilbert's) twenty-year career." THE SIGNATURE OF ALL THINGS was a New York Times Bestseller, and Janet Maslin called it "engrossing…vibrant and hot-blooded." The novel was named a Best Book of 2013 by The New York Times, O Magazine, The Washington Post, The Chicago Tribune, and The New Yorker". In 2015, she published BIG MAGIC: CREATIVE LIVING BEYOND FEAR—a book that encapsulates the joyful spirit of adventure and permission that Elizabeth has always brought to her work and to her life. Her latest novel is CITY OF GIRLS — a rollicking, sexy tale of the New York City theater world during the 1940s. It will be published in June of 2019. Elizabeth divides her time between New York City, rural New Jersey, and everywhere else.

Is the patio heated??
Nice quiet place to meet friends. Friendly staff. Food was fine. Would go back if friends invited me again... I'm not much for bars though and this isn't an applebees atmosphere.
MoreForgot I had to wear my mask every place I went! Inside the bar. I am only human. I come there to buy drinks which are strong! Tonight I got a warning to keep my mask on which I totally understand but was also asked to tab out and leave after the third time. Honestly it could of been handled differently bc it came with attitude. I didn't do it on purpose but when you have to keep getting up to remind your waitress to bring your drinks....i get a little frustrated. That's ok tho....not the only bar in town.
MoreGreat service, great drinks. Just a little cramped.
Harry’s consistently delivers as a go to spot for a drink and a bite. They don’t serve barf food, they serve yummy food... for instance...If you like chicken wings that don’t drip sauce down your arm, you’ll love the crunchy, slightly battered, just spicy enough to get your attention wings at Harry’s. If you’re tired of seeing every bartender on land with a jigger in their hand, you’ll be happy as a clam and want to strike up the band! So why don’t you sit on the porch where you won’t scorch...(*you won’t scorch because they have misters).
MoreHarry's is a great establishment to get a mixed drink and some food. The spicy chicken sandwich with waffle fries is awesome! The Crown and Cokes are poured right. Go visit them!
MoreWe went in, stood by the host stand for a bit..no greet or anyone. We left.
Listen, it's a dive bar. If you want to go somewhere classy for cocktails, this isn't it. Now, if you want to go somewhere rough around the edges with real people and very real drinks, this is your place. Also, good hot wings.
MoreFun atmosphere. Does get pretty busy, but a good crowd.
Good atmosphere, great service, nice little bar
Good bar food. Friendly staff. Hadn't been for several years. Glad I did.
Great drinks at affordable prices and excellent service from waitress!
Great food and they know how to mix drinks. Sometimes there is live music on the patio.
MoreLove this local watering hole! Harry's is a little historic, very casual, and a whole lot of fun! Basic classic pub fare with healthy options too! Service is good and the drinks are great! Indoor and outdoor seating. Late food menu. Ample parking and handicap parking too. Located on Douglas at Hillside in Wichita, Ks. next to Margaritas. Meeting people us easy and hanging out with your own crowd is always a blast! Daily drink and food specials make it affordable!
MoreGreat food, great service and great drinks. It is a destination mark and wichita staple for a reason.
MoreGood food and drinks for a good price.
Great food always good service
Great drinks they pour heavy when you can find them 😉
Enjoyed the corned beef and cabbage for Saint Patrick's weekend. The service was good and drinks were as well. It's been awhile since the the rafters were dusted. Loved all the stained glass and nostalgic bar signs from the Wichita area.
MoreLove this place. The atmosphere is pretty nice and their patio is very comfortable. Mostly for people 30+. Food and Drinks are good and big. Waitresses are cute and helpful.
MoreDaryl CWichita, Kansas4932Pending reviewCan not recommend this placeI was given a gift card to this place as a Christmas gift for $25 dollars. I was unaware that they placed an expiration date of 12 months on it from the date it was purchased, which was a month or so before Christmas. When I went to use it they told me "sorry it has expired and we won't honor it". So the $25 dollars that my family put out is now in there pockets with nothing to show for it. Not only will I not eat there I will tell all my friends not to go there. I hope the owners think all this is worth their $25 in ill will.
MoreClassic pub. Comfort food and excellent drink prices. Friendly staff and customers. Will be a regular haunt for us when in the area.
MoreLove this place! Wife and I felt right at home like it was our local pub, and the great food for great prices were coupled beautifully with long pours. Welcoming casual environment, lots of TVs for anyone wanting to catch a game with some friends, nice screened patio space for smoking while you eat and drink, and the space is extremely well-designed to maximize customer seating both at the bar and at tables. We have been about half a dozen times and I often eat the same thing when I go somewhere but everything I've tried here has been great quality pub style food, especially for the prices. Great apps, sandwiches, Harry's potato soup, big shrimp basket, the list goes on and never disappointed.
MoreGood service. Nice atmosphere. Affordable. Last time I had a burger and wasn't too impressed. It was obviously a premade Patty type but this time I had the chicken strips and they we're delicious. Very crunchy and with good flavor. Steak fried we're fried just right and the beer is super cheap. $2.50 domestic bottles. We enjoy it here.
MoreGood strong drinks, great prices and service!!
Harry's has always been considered one of those well established places, that is on the map of bar and grills, you can't really go wrong with by choosing here to go eat, have some drinks, relax and really be comfortable while your there. I've been in Wichita for 48 years and remember back as far as I can that Harry's Bar and Grill has always been there. I have been here many many times throughout the years. I honestly can't remember a single visit that had a negative experience. Harry's has always had a good menu with good food, fully stock bar along with a pretty good list of beers on hand. Always have had excellent service by the wait staff or bar. So if your visiting in Wichita and looking for a very comfortable atmosphere with postive attributes. Harry's is the place.
MoreI had a good steak meal and service was good.😎
We went here specifically for dinner and the food was delicious! The Classic Club was so tasty and my husband enjoyed his Bacon Cheeseburger. Our waitress was very nice and friendly. The interior is small and cozy with color changing light bulbs. It was a cool affect, but also a bit distracting as the light level in the bar greatly varies depending on what color is on at the moment. I only rated 3 stars due to the fact that you HAVE to walk past the smoking patio to enter/exit the establishment and, since the walkway is mostly enclosed, it creates a heavy cloud of smoke to get through. I get headaches from secondhand smoke, so I had to hold my breathe and hope the smoke wouldn't stick to my clothes and hair. Due to this fact, any return visits will be rare.
MoreAbsolutely favorite bar in Wichita. The staff is amazing, the food is delicious, and the pours are stiff. Several TVs make it a great place to watch the game. The fried okra is my go-to snack, while the hot wings are my favorite meal. You can't go wrong!
MoreFirst time going in. I feel like the waiting staff could of been a little more friendly. Food was good and service wasn't bad just could of used some personality. Not a bad local spot.
MoreWhenever I visit friends in Wichita we always end up stopping into Harry's for drinks and food. The service is always gracious and the prices are very fair. This is one of those local hangouts where - at some point - everyone just might know your name. As an out-of-towner I can say I have always felt welcome here and I have no doubt the next time I visit Harry's will be on the agenda.
MoreDrinks are amazing staff is niceish some have attitudes
The outside dining area has a beautiful beachy mural. Inside is decorated with stained glass lights and panes. Staff are friendly and helpful. Food is delicious and reasonably priced. One visit and we had a new Wichita fave!
MoreFood was excellent and the drinks were strong and not watered down.
Always a good time at Harry's Uptown B&GOutstanding bartenders and wait staff. They really care about their customers.
MoreGreat food and staff.
Harry's has some of the most genuine ladies and they are great waitresses!!! If you want a good night and a uber home, head to Harry's (bc you won't be able to drive home) 🍻
MoreBest priced drinks in town. Great atmosphere and service. The spicy chicken club is the best item on the menu.
MoreI Was looking for a good sandwich and the place I wanted to go to was closed I happened upon Harry's that was the first mistake. The reviews were good, which gave me hope. I ordered the super nachos and a Rueben sandwich second mistake. The nachos were 9$ what I got was a handful of chips with cheese. Somehow Harrys has managed to bypass science and melt cheese while keeping the entire dish still cold. Rueban was tasteless the only saving grace was the fries. The club we also ordered was trash as the whole thing was ruined by the cheese that still tasted like the plastic it was packed in. The servers were friendly. However i hope they serve very strong drinks as that is the ony way the food could possibly be worth it. Overall a waste of 30$ and a lunch....0/10 would not reccomend
MoreGood food and friendly service best drinks in town !
The steak was tougher than a boot and the waitresses was meaner than a badger! My dog could not chew the leftovers but he ended up swallowing the entire steak whole!
MorePopular bar... cosy (stained glass, dim lighting, wierd shtuff in the rafters) attended by lots and lots of "regulars". Most Wichita natives know that Harry's is where you want to go for a sincere & serious pour. So give it an A++ for those who are fond of alcohol. They have a great patio, if you're into that kind of thing that's wonderful in decent weather and tolerable on all but the coldest of days. PS ... and for those who might be vegetarians, Harry's has GREAT salads!! So you can eat healthy while you pickle your brains
MoreVery clean quiet place. Smaller eating area wait staff was nice and prompt. The fried pickles were lightly seasoned. There was no heat to the spice of the fried pickles and the batter did not fall off like others that I have had. The hot roast beef missed the mark this time, it was warm not piping hot like usual. The Ruben has the thousand island dressing on the side and I actually preferred it without. Two sandwiches, beer, soda, and fried pickles for just a little over 30 not bad.
MoreAll good and the wait staff/bartenders were awesome as always!!!!
A really nice neighborhood atmosphere with really good sandwiches. The wait staff is tremendous. Will definitely go back.
MoreThe food was delicious! The chicken strips were crispy and tender! The waffle fries are a must!! Whatever seasoning the use is outstanding! It's a nice small, quiet space and all the waitress were so sweet!!
MoreA Wichita institution. It's rare that when you leave any establishment, that you feel you've gotten your money's worth. The absolute best drinks and wait staff in town.
MoreHave the best fried mushrooms I've ever had
Harry’s is a classic that I never get sick of. Family owned with die-hard regulars. They pour a stiff drink, but the food is also worth going in for. My personal favorites are the spicy chicken club & potato skins, but everything I’ve had is great.
MoreGreat bar. Small but good atmosphere and great food!
Awesome place for great meal.
